Responsibilities: Acts as a business analyst with deep data governance and metadata expertise. Lead the design of the programme-wide metadata schema that must scale across all nations. Engage with business users, legal teams, and security/export-control specialists to understand how data is classified and what restrictions apply. Capture existing metadata requirements from stakeholders and harmonise them into a single structured model. Consider and design for GDPR, PII, UK and international government protective markings, export control rules, and the EU AI Act. Define controlled vocabularies, taxonomies, and metadata categories needed for compliant data sharing. Work closely with Data Custodians and Data Governance Deputy to ensure metadata and policy frameworks align.
