About The Role Your Commitment as Secretary Trustee Join our Board of Trustees, meeting every two months (currently online, usually in Bishopbriggs). Here’s what you’ll do: Legal Advice: Help us understand the legal side of our plans. Governance and Risk: Make sure we follow good practices and manage risks well. Ad Hoc Support: Offer occasional legal help, especially with our Memorandum and Articles of Association. Charity Law and OSCR: Ensure we comply with charity laws and OSCR rules. Data Protection and GDPR: Help us follow data protection laws and GDPR, including training our team. Minute Taking: Write up meeting minutes promptly. Advocacy: Attend extra meetings, the AGM, and promote our charity within your networks. This is a volunteer role, requiring about 5-10 hours per month. The initial term is three years. Your help will be crucial in achieving our mission and making a positive impact. We look forward to having you on our team! Requirements We're looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Board as a Secretary Trustee! If you have a background as a Company Secretary, Solicitor, or in a similar professional role, we would love to hear from you. What We're Looking For Professional Experience: You've worked in a company secretarial or legal role at a management level. Governance and Compliance: You have a solid understanding of charity law, OSCR regulations, and GDPR compliance. Strategic Planning: You're excited to contribute to our charity's vision, mission, and strategic direction. Legal Expertise: You can provide legal support, especially in relation to our Memorandum and Articles of Association. Communication Skills: You're skilled at writing accurate and concise meeting minutes. Risk Management: You can identify and manage risks to ensure our activities are safe and effective. Financial Oversight: You understand financial management and reporting to help maintain our financial health.
