Role Description Please note: this is a permanent Night Shift role hours below: Mon - Thursday 2148 - 0600 Friday 1748 - 0000 39 hours Job Purpose Lead and drive the shift manufacturing team to achieve the production of quality, defect free products in a safe and efficient manner under the manufacturing principles of SQCDP. Dimensions 1. 10 Direct report across production technical and engineering. 2. Works Night shift pattern. (flexibility will be required to facilitate training). Principle Accountabilities 1. Be supportive, act with integrity, show enthusiasm and embrace openness 2. Have in depth understanding of the Princes Manufacturing System (PMS) and maturity matrix, and site must win battle plans 3. Support and lead lean manufacturing work practices including 5s, AM, problem solving (including root cause analysis) to drive continuous improvement activity at site 4. Deputise for site operations manager during night shifts. 5. Lead the manufacturing team in the fulfilment of targets set by site specific KPI's to ensure departmental and individual goals and objectives are aligned and achieved through tactical and business objectives. 6. Efficiently manage manufacturing and process of Syrup to the canning lines to meet production demands, ensuring that associated resources and raw materials are utilised effectively. 7. Ensure that product meets defined Customer specifications by adhering to recipe instructions and Quality Assurance manufacturing procedures. 8. Monitor and accurately complete all reporting and recording procedures applicable to the designated tasks. 9. Lead and develop the team in accordance with HR policies and procedures, including operator training, communication and team development. 10. Ensure strict conformance to Company hygiene standards whilst protecting Health and Safety throughout production by communicating policies and standards demonstrated through behavioural safety audits. 11. Monitor and maintain all process equipment reporting faults / problems to the appropriate source through the established continuous improvement reporting system. 12. Undertake any other tasks / projects as required by the operations Manager. 13. All employees should carry out their duties in a responsible manner giving due consideration to Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures, which are part of the Integrated management System. Contribute to the health & safety of self and others by applying health and safety principles to the required standards whilst undertaking designated tasks. 15. To maintain product Food Safety, Legality, Integrity, Authenticity and Quality standards by ensuring all associated policies and procedures are adhered to. Role Requirements Knowledge Experience of working within an FMCG environment-preferably canning/bottling/packing Knowledge of continuous improvement work practices General knowledge of engineering/manufacturing would be desirable Experience of working with Trade Unions Experience of dealing with HR/people issues (disciplines, grievances, performance management issues etc.) Knowledge of current Health and Safety Legislation Skills Strong leadership and influencing skills Strong Decision making skills. Excellent communication skills Experience of managing a team IT skills E.g.
