About the role
The Red Carnation Hotels is seeking a strong mid- to senior-weight Interior Designer to join its London team. The position is based in our office next to Buckingham Palace, with the requirement to work from the studio five days a week. You’ll report directly to the Design Director and will be part of a close-knit team working on diverse, design-led hospitality projects. The group is expanding its in-house design team and investing in renovation projects over the coming years.
Responsibilities
* Lead 3–4 small to mid-scale projects from concept through to completion, alongside a number of smaller creative tasks.
* Develop concepts and produce detailed specification documents and drawing packs.
* In-house role within a hospitality group with involvement in photoshoots, styling, branding and visual storytelling.
* Work closely with the operations team and contribute to shaping world-class 5* spaces.
* Take ownership of meaningful projects and contribute to a broader creative vision.
Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in interior design (preferably hospitality focused).
* Strong design sensibility with the ability to respond to context, history, and vision.
* Client-facing experience and confidence liaising with contractors and consultants.
* Collaborative, proactive, and positive attitude.
* Excellent written and spoken English.
* Strong documentation and technical detailing skills.
* Solid supplier knowledge and procurement understanding.
* Self-motivated and independent, while also a strong team player.
Software and other design skills
* AutoCAD
* SketchUp
* Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
* Outlook and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
* Bonus: Rendering skills (SketchUp, Enscape or similar), photoshoot/styling experience, OS&E sourcing
