Main duties of the job
* Oversee daily operations, ensuring staff fulfil their roles effectively
* Manage clinical and administrative teams, including recruitment and job descriptions
* Administer service contracts (e.g. cleaning, gardening) and lead continuous improvement initiatives
* Review and update practice policies and develop a business resilience plan
* Manage finances and support QOF target achievement
* Coordinate meetings and maintain the practice diary
* Represent the practice externally and liaise with NHS, ICB, community services, suppliers, and other stakeholders
* Handle complaints, disciplinary matters, and ensure legal compliance
* Oversee premises management, health & safety, mandatory training, IT systems, data security, and information governance
* Lead internal projects, maintain the practice website, and deputise for the GP when required
* Produce quarterly newsletters and manage the Patient Participation Group
About Us
We are a small, welcoming GP surgery with approximately 2,400 patients. Our team comprises a GP Partner, Nurse, Healthcare Assistant, secretary, four reception staff, and a Practice Manager. Located on Barnsley Road near the Northern General Hospital, we offer free parking and are dedicated to providing safe, high-quality, patient-centred care in line with NHS standards.

Qualifications
Essential
* Proven management experience, preferably within healthcare or GP practice
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
* Sound knowledge of NHS systems, CQC standards, HR best practices, and IT proficiency
* Leadership/management qualification, accounting skills including budgeting and forecasting
* Experience in performance management, workforce planning, and health & safety
* Ability to work flexibly, including outside core hours, and hold a full UK driving licence
Desirable
* AMSPAR qualification or degree-level education in healthcare
