Job Overview

We are a family run pub in Iron Acton searching for a talented team member to join our friendly team.

We are serving good honest British pub food with Eastern European specials.

We are offering a very good work/life balance where not every weekend is needed nor late nights.

A large live in accommodation may be offered for the right candidate .

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef who is willing to learn a new cuisine. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and kitchen management, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to food safety and quality. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring that our dishes meet the highest standards of taste and presentation while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Duties

* Oversee all aspects of food production, including menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and portion control.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in compliance with health regulations.
* Lead by example in cooking techniques, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to perfection.
* Collaborate with the management team to develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to customer preferences.
* Train new kitchen staff on cooking methods, food preparation techniques, and safety protocols.
* Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
* Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and professional growth among staff.

Qualifications

* Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
* Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and culinary trends.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* A solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene.
* Exceptional leadership qualities with strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff and management alike.
* Previous experience in menu development and cost control is highly desirable.
