About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a part‑time Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy team at HMP Drake Hall, a women’s closed prison in Staffordshire, serving around 340 female inmates. The pharmacy is a centralised dispensary within the healthcare department.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide outstanding quality, patient‑centred care, seeking, listening to and acting on patient feedback.
* Ensure safe and secure medicines management, maintaining medical records to agreed standards and following SOPs.
* Deliver non‑judgemental care within professional scope, including timely medicine administration and cost‑effective prescribing per the Health in Justice medicines policy.
* Serve as a key member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Qualifications & Experience
* NVQ Level 3 or above, BTEC, or equivalent.
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Up‑to‑date CPD.
* Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work unsupervised, following policy and procedures.
* Preferred: experience in hospital, community or prison environment.
Hours and Salary
Part‑time: 33 hours per week, Monday to Sunday service. 7:15 am – 7:15 pm, with a 12‑week rolling rota. Annual salary between £29,264 and £33,510 FTE, pro‑rata, depending on experience.
