The Role
Working closely with the Financial Controller, you’ll be involved in both management accounting and day-to-day finance operations. This is a varied, hands-on role offering excellent exposure and development.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis
* Assisting with month-end processes (accruals, prepayments, journals, balance sheet reconciliations)
* Monitoring expenditure, investigating variances, and tracking against budgets
* Maintaining the fixed asset register and managing depreciation
* Supporting cashflow forecasting
* Handling purchase ledger processes, supplier payments, and bank reconciliations
* Ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data
* Contributing to ad hoc projects and continuous process improvements
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll be proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn within a fast-paced environment.
You will ideally have:
* Experience in a similar finance or accounting role
* AAT part or fully qualified, or studying towards ACCA/CIMA
* Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems
* The ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
* Excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
* Confidence working both independently and as part of a small team
* A drive to improve processes and add value
