Job Title: Secondary SEMH Teacher (Maths Specialist)

Salary Range: £150 to £230 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are currently recruiting a dedicated and specialist Secondary SEMH Teacher to join schools across High Peak. You will be responsible for planning and delivering Maths lessons aligned with the national curriculum, while also helping students develop confidence, emotional resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning.
As a Secondary SEMH Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
* Delivering targeted Maths lessons tailored to GCSE pupils with SEMH needs.
* Creating a supportive and structured learning environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and academic progress.
* Developing and implementing behaviour support plans in collaboration with SENCOs and support staff.
* Building trusting relationships to engage and motivate learners.
* Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching strategies to individual needs.
* Liaising with external professionals to provide holistic support.
Skills & Requirements for Secondary SEMH Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Maths at GCSE level.
* Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs in secondary settings.
* Full UK driving licence with business insurance is essential.
* Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and resilience.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years with any gaps clearly explained.
