Role: Workshop Controller
Location: Marshall Jaguar Land Rover Leicester
Hours: 45 hours, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm
Salary: £36,956 basic and a with a bonus and OTE Bonus scheme in place

The role
We are seeking a Workshop Controller at Marshall Motor Group. This role will see you lead day-to-day operations for our busy service operation, supervising and motivating a team of technicians. Reporting to our Aftersales Manager, this role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis.
In addition to overseeing the main workshop, this is a semi-productive Workshop Controller role that includes hands-on support and vehicle repair responsibilities at our Walnut Street workshop. You will play a key role in managing technicians, improving productivity, and increasing vehicle throughput—particularly in relation to breakdowns.
You will also liaise directly with breakdown clients to enhance Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores and overall client experience.

Who you are
To be successful in this role, you will have experience as a Workshop Controller, ideally from a franchised dealership (brand experience flexible). You will also have intermediate IT skills, ideally with experience in administrating eVHC software. In addition to your previous experience, we are seeking individual who display the following attributes:
1. Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team
2. A professional and calm approach with strong customer service skills
3. Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to foresee potential barriers
4. A technician qualification is required, ideally with diagnostic capabilities
5. Ability to work productively on vehicles when required, supporting workshop throughput
6. Experience liaising with breakdown clients and driving CSI improvements
What you’ll do
7. Lead, manage and motivate a team of qualified and apprentice technicians
8. Allocate work orders to technicians, and manage technician clocking on/off, and rostering
9. Ensure workshop operations meet brand standards for quality by conducting regular quality checks on completed works
10. Drive service profitability by ensuring maximum time save and upsell
11. Manage and update workshop technical solutions including eVHC and service booking database
12. Provide outstanding customer service to service customers both face-to-face and by phone
13. Assist and work closely with the Service Advisor team as required
14. Support and repair vehicles at Walnut Street workshop as part of a semi-productive role
15. Liaise with breakdown clients to promote CSI and enhance client experience
