We are expanding our Oral Health Improvement Service following recent government funding to support supervised toothbrushing programmes in nurseries and schools across areas of highest need. We are seeking enthusiastic and committed Oral Health Improvement Practitioner - Assistants to join our growing team.

Main duties of the job
Our Oral Health Improvement Service operates across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, Staffordshire, and Stoke-on-Trent, delivering evidence-based programmes commissioned by NHS England. These include supervised toothbrushing in early years settings and oral health initiatives in care homes. We work closely with partners in health, education, social care, and the voluntary sector to reduce oral health inequalities and promote lifelong oral health.

Person Specification
Training & Qualifications
* Level 3 Certificate of the Examining Board of Dental Nurses in Oral Health Promotion or an equivalent qualification, OR
* Level 3 public health qualification or equivalent experience, OR
* Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent, PLUS Level 3 Diploma or equivalent experience.
Experience
* Experience delivering oral health improvement sessions in dental settings or working within Early Years, schools, or care homes, OR experience in training or teaching in health or dental fields.
* Experience working with vulnerable or disadvantaged groups to improve health and reduce inequalities.
* Experience of team and partnership working.
Knowledge & Skills
* Knowledge of dental disease etiology and prevention.
* Understanding of health and oral health improvement principles.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work flexibly and meet deadlines.
* Ability to motivate and support others.
Other
* Must be able to meet travel requirements of the role.

Salary: £27,485 to £30,162 per annum, pro rata.
