We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Healthcare Assistant to join our team to support the NHS in Cumbria. The successful candidate will support mental health practitioners by providing care, companionship, and assistance to individuals struggling with mental health challenges.
Onsite accommodation can be provided for a nightly charge.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Support: Assist patients with day-to-day tasks, promote independence, and support their engagement in therapeutic activities.
2. Monitoring and Reporting: Observe patient behaviours and moods, document accurately, and report any changes to senior staff.
3. Crisis Intervention: Help maintain a calm environment by managing challenging situations and assisting with de-escalation when needed.
4. Collaborative Care: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, following individualized care plans to meet each patient’s unique needs.
5. Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure safety and cleanliness standards are upheld in patient areas.
Requirements
1. Qualifications: Mandatory Trainings, PMVA 3 day and PMVA Refresher.
2. Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with mental health needs or in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
