Overview
The East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) is hiring Student Paramedics for the Watford base. Candidates must be able to start by June 2026 and should hold a full C1 driving licence, which will receive priority consideration. Applicants who have already applied and completed the recruitment process within the past six months are ineligible.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
* Be a student or have recently graduated in a paramedicine programme.
* Be able to work locally, within an hour's travel of the Watford base station.
* Accept the 24‑month restriction on internal transfers during the consolidation period.
Responsibilities
Paramedics in this role will:
* Provide emergency pre‑hospital care across a wide range of environments, from urban to rural settings, managing life‑saving interventions and end‑of‑life care.
* Work collaboratively with allied health professionals, call handlers, dispatchers and other support services.
* Ensure safe referrals and discharge to appropriate community or hospital services.
* Participate in the two‑year National Joint Programme (NQP) consolidation, transitioning from newly qualified to fully autonomous practice.
Support and Development
* No solo responding in the first six months.
* 150–300 hours of supervised practice within the first 12 weeks after registration with an experienced paramedic.
* Completion of a Practice Educator course at nine months, through a Trust‑approved education programme.
* 24/7 Clinical Advice Line for decision‑making review, discharge planning, and escalation support.
* Personal tablet for access to electronic patient care records, clinical guidelines, incident management and alternative care pathways.
