As the Finance Analyst for Dover Precision Components, you will support the UK Finance Manager, overseeing three manufacturing sites (four P&Ls) in Scotland and England. Your responsibilities include driving cost efficiencies, improving reporting accuracy and profitability, and implementing cost accounting procedures.
You will prepare and review sales & cost reports and inventory accounts, ensure correct cost data allocation, and maintain compliance with Sarbanes Oxley internal control procedures. Additional duties involve assisting with capital expenditure requests, preparing journal entries, and developing forecasts and budgets.
What You Will Bring
* Ideally CA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Collaborative mindset, sound judgment, analytical abilities, and attention to detail
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* Experience leading change initiatives
* Fluency in cost accounting principles and intermediate GAAP accounting
* Experience with Infor-Syteline ERP system is a plus
* Ability to prioritize workload effectively
* Strong data analysis and presentation skills
* Experience with Qliksense/Power BI is a plus
* Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders such as Plant Managers and Financial Controllers
What You Will Do
* Maintain internal controls and comply with Sarbanes Oxley procedures
* Support plant management across three sites to improve financial performance
* Travel to sites as needed for management support
* Participate in month-end close activities, including account reviews and reconciliations
* Develop relationships with operations and other departments
* Ensure proper accounting and safeguarding of plant assets
* Analyze manufacturing results and communicate variances
* Maintain standard cost data and prepare related reports
* Work with operations to capture productivity savings
* Support accurate product costing through labor rate preparation
* Prepare variance analysis reports to assess profitability
* Track and report on KPIs
* Assist in budget and forecast preparation, monitor progress, and explain variances
* Perform ad-hoc financial projects and reporting
