At Ryhill Junior, Infant & Nursery School, we are committed to maintaining high standards and expect all our staff to share this dedication. We are looking for a hardworking, efficient, and self-motivated individual to join our friendly office team. The Administrative Officer plays a vital role in the effective day-to-day communication and administration of the school, ensuring that everything runs smoothly in a busy school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Under the instruction/ guidance of senior staff: provide general administrative/ financial support to the school.
2. Provide comprehensive and efficient administrative support to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team
3. Ensure effective and high-quality communication both within the school and externally
4. Support the school’s day-to-day administrative tasks, ensuring all deadlines and standards are met
5. Maintain the welfare of children and school staff, ensuring all records and documentation are up to date
We are looking for someone who:
6. Is a positive, highly organised person keen to grow their skill set
7. NVQ 2 or equivalent qualification e.g. I.L.M. Certificate in Team Leading, or Support Work In Schools (SWiS) Level 2 or experience in relevant discipline or Level 2 Numeracy/ Literacy skills or willingness to work towards
8. Is happy, friendly and welcoming to all
9. Appreciates of the need to maintain strictest confidence
10. Has excellent organisational and time-management skills
11. Is trustworthy, flexible, and self-motivated
12. Has the ability to work quickly, calmly and efficiently under pressure
13. Possesses strong communication skills, both verbal and written, at all levels
14. Has experience in school administration (desirable but not essential)
15. Will work with high levels of accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail
16. Is flexible, adaptable and able to multi-task
17. Is able to manage workloads effectively to meet deadlines
18. Is able to develop positive working relationships, working collaboratively and effectively with all colleagues
19. Has excellent written and good numeracy skills
20. Is proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Publisher
21. Ideally has experience with school-based systems such as Integris/Arbor and Unit4
22. Is able to organise ‘hospitality’ for meetings, Governors and training days.
