Hardware/Electronics Test Engineer
Location: Portland, Dorset
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Working Pattern: Hybrid (2-3 days per week onsite)
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Electronics Test Engineer to join a high-performing engineering and manufacturing team supporting the delivery of high-quality electronic products and systems within the defence sector.
This role is ideal for a hands-on test engineer with strong fault-finding skills who enjoys working to high standards and tight deadlines on complex, high-profile projects.
Reporting to the Functional Lead, you will play a key role in production inspection, testing, and verification of electronic modules, units, and systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform IPC-level inspections of electronic assemblies during production and prior to testing
2. Execute and document formal test procedures, recording results for hardware, software, and firmware configurations
3. Carry out fault finding and diagnosis down to component level
4. Take accurate measurements using a range of electronic test equipment
