We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a Design Team Manager within the Better Parking Strategy Team at County Hall in Norwich (hybrid remote working).
We seek an experienced Design Team Manager with a background in delivering parking infrastructure projects and sound knowledge of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs). The role involves overseeing the delivery of parking-related projects across Norfolk, focusing on process improvements and partnership working, supporting high-profile parking and highway safety schemes.
You will ensure solutions are delivered in consultation with local members and stakeholders, demonstrating confidence in negotiations and experience working in political environments. A strong contractual awareness and ability to build relationships are essential.
Requirements include extensive highways design and maintenance experience (over 10 years), preferably as a Chartered or Incorporated Highway/Civil Engineer, with a successful track record in managing technical teams, delivering projects on time and within budget, and experience in budget management and operational efficiencies.
You will collaborate with the County Council’s Better Parking Strategy Team, professional services consultants (e.g., WSP), legal teams, and key stakeholders to ensure resources and standards meet expectations.
