Shenstone Hall is looking for a dedicated and reliable team member to work in our small residential home - 25 residents
Due to the location and finishing time of 18:15 a full driving licence would be required.
We require a KS (kitchen assistant). You need to be able to work as part of a team and be diligent and able to openly communicate to colleagues and residents.
We require all candidates to have a kind, patient, caring nature as you will be dealing with elderly residents.
You need to understand the nutritional needs of the older person and follow a set menu led by the Cooks.
You need to understand the importance of infection control and the role of EHO.
This position does involve the completion of paperwork to comply with EHO and health and safety.
The hours are 08:00 - 18:15. Unpaid break 15:00 - 16:00.
It is a 2 week rolling rota, including every other weekend.
Job Overview
The candidate must support the kitchen cook in food preparation and ensure a smooth operation in the kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Assist the cook in food preparation and meal assembly
- Help the cook with cooking tasks as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area
- Support catering activities during events
- Adhere to food safety standards and guidelines
* Serve morning tea and supper, the later you will be lone working
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant is advantageous
- Knowledge of food safety practices is desirable
- Ability to assist with culinary tasks efficiently
- Willingness to learn and contribute to a team environment
