Barking and Dagenham College have an exciting oportunity for a Student Onboarding Assistant to join our Admissions & Onboarding Team. You will join us on a part-time - 30 hours per week, permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £21,795 - £24,116 pa inc. London Weighting. The Student Onboarding Assistant role: To provide an efficient, customer service focussed and data compliant service to admit and onboard applicants to BDC. In this role you will provide IAG on courses, assess applications, support interviews and assessments, make offers, support students through the enrolment process and provide customer service to applicants to support their admission, from initial enquiry through to induction. The successful post holder will be required to have excellent customer service skills, be able to communicate with learners of all abilities including those with a low level of English, via a range of methods. Key Responsibilities of our Student Onboarding Assistant : Provide initial Information and Advice around course information, student eligibility and fee remission in accordance with the Funding Agencies guidance and college policies and procedures. Support with assessing applications based on known or predicted qualifications and make offers in line with pre-determined entry requirements. Escalate borderline cases to key curriculum contacts for decision and level setting, following pre-agreed processes. Respond to applicant queries around the status of their application, advising them of next steps and ensuring all enquiries are responded to in an efficient and timely manner. Use curriculum interview schedules to book applicant interviews for relevant courses, support the assessment and outcome process and notify applicants. Keep curriculum areas updated on the status of their applications. Our ideal ROLE should have the following qualifications, skills and experience: ​​​​​​​ General level of education to at least Level 2 (E) Experience of working within the Data Protection Act and dealing with confidential issues (E) Experience of working in a fast paced, customer service focussed team, with a high volume of administrative work. (E) Level 2 IAG or equivalent qualification (D) Basic knowledge and understanding of the further and/or education curriculum (D) If you are passionate about success and can do the above, then we want to hear from you! These include (some of which are dependent upon the role and the individual): enhanced DBS including children’s barred list check, DfE teaching/management barred list check, on-line searches, overseas criminal record check, evidence of identity and right to work in the UK, satisfactory references, confirmation of medical fitness, evidence of relevant qualifications and a check of previous employment history. You will be required to become familiar with College’s policies and comply with the requirements to safeguard and protect the welfare of children and young people and vulnerable adults.
