Team Leader – Recycling Site (Temp to Perm) Location : Hartlepool Working Hours : Monday to Friday | 06:00 – 18:00 Pay Rate Starting from : £13.35 per hour Agency Overview Our client, a well-established recycling and waste management operator, is currently recruiting for an experienced Team Leader to join their busy recycling site in Hartlepool. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering long-term prospects for the right candidate. Role Overview As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising site operatives, ensuring daily targets are met while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and operational efficiency. This is a hands-on role, leading by example on the shop floor. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support a team of recycling operatives Allocate daily tasks and manage workloads effectively Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times Monitor productivity and report performance to site management Carry out basic paperwork and shift reporting Support training and induction of new starters Maintain cleanliness and organisation across the site Health & Safety Enforce site health, safety, and environmental procedures Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings as required Identify hazards and report incidents or near misses promptly Ensure all staff wear correct PPE at all times Candidate Requirements Essential Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role Background in recycling, waste, manufacturing, or industrial environments Strong leadership and communication skills Good understanding of health and safety procedures Ability to work long shifts in a fast-paced environment Desirable Experience within a recycling or waste management site FLT or plant machinery experience (training may be provided) What’s in It for You Pay starting from £13.35 per hour Monday to Friday working pattern – no weekends Temp-to-perm opportunity with a reputable employer Ongoing support from the agency How to Apply If you are interested in this role and meet the above criteria, please apply now or contact the agency for further details.
