We are seeking to expand our Hourly Paid Lecturer Pool and invite applications from enthusiastic, skilled, and industry-experienced professionals across a range of subject areas.

As part of our Hourly Paid Lecturer Pool, you will deliver high‑quality teaching and learning on an ad hoc basis to support curriculum delivery across the College. Opportunities may arise across a variety of subject areas, depending on business needs.
You will play a key role in supporting student success, delivering engaging sessions, and contributing to a positive learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality teaching sessions in your specialist subject area
* Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet learner needs
* Assess student work and provide constructive feedback
* Support student progress, engagement, and achievement
* Maintain accurate academic records as required
* Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Comply with college policies, including safeguarding and health & safety
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Relevant qualification or significant industry experience in your subject area
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to engage and motivate learners
* Strong organisational skills
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding
Desirable
* Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
* Experience teaching in Further Education or training environments
* Knowledge of current curriculum and assessment practices
Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding
To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:
* DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
* Certificate in Education
* PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
* ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education)
* DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
* DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject
If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998).
* PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
* CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
* CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
* SFHEA (Senior Fellowship)
* Masters in Education
* TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)
