About the CompanyOur client is an established Aero/ Defence Technology SME based in the wider Cambridge area.They are a leading designer and manufacturer of radar systems whose patented and industry-leading radar technologies are deployed in over 35 countries for applications including border surveillance, perimeter security, and infrastructure monitoring.About the JobThe Production Engineer will support a wide range of manufacturing activities, and will support the in-house radar testing and assisting the design engineering team.Key Accountabilities * Maintain accurate product specifications, test, and build records in the PLM database * Draft and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) accurately * Provide technical information to support component and source approval * Support radar testing processes * Liaise with manufacturing partners and component suppliers on technical issues * Advise on potential supply challenges, including component obsolescence * Assist with electronic and mechanical assembly tasks when requiredCompetencies and Behaviours * Strong attention to detail * Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively * Adaptability and responsiveness to changing requirements * Clear and professional verbal and written communication * Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently when needed * Self-motivated with a drive to complete and document tasks thoroughly * Strong relationship-building skills, both internally and externallyExperience/Qualifications * Understanding of electronic and mechanical engineering processes * Familiarity with technical documentation and drawings * Experience using PLM systems * Hands-on experience with electronic (including PCBA) and mechanical assembly * CAD skills are advantageous * Full UK driving licence
