Job overview

* All of our substantive Consultant vacancies attract a 'New Starter' package of £15,000 spread over 3 years as a recruitment bonus
* All new starters receive up to £12,000 relocation package
* CPD is being paid at the higher level of £2000 per annum with the facility accumulating annual funding for up to three years to accommodate accessing higher cost development opportunities

We seek a Consultant Psychiatrist leader to join our male acute in-patient psychiatric care unit in Norwich covering central and south Norfolk. The ward is being reopened with refurbishments to create an additional ward for the central Norfolk locality and this post is being created in line with this. The unit will provide 15 male acute beds.


Main duties of the job


The post is for a Consultant Psychiatrist. The ward provides admission, assessment and treatment to male adults aged between 18-70 years suffering from severe mental disorders. The admitted patients are voluntary as well as those detained under the Mental Health Act.

The post is newly created alongside the reopening of the ward. The Specialty Doctor posts on the wards are substantive posts.

The post holder must be registered with the GMC. The post holder must also have an entry on the GMC Specialist Register (CCST) in Adult Psychiatry (or within three months of completion of CCST). Applications from those wishing to work flexibly or those wishing to develop academic or special interest sessions are welcomed.
