Job Introduction
We are currently recruiting for an Advanced Recovery Practitioner. The role will be based in Bury St Edmunds.
For this role, you will have significant experience in providing substance use services or related fields in health, social care, or criminal justice, and/or a relevant qualification such as social work or nursing. You will manage a caseload of service users with multiple needs and develop a specialism within the team. You will provide learning opportunities, act as a point of expertise, lead multidisciplinary discussions, and represent the service externally to improve pathways with partner agencies. While not a line management role, Advanced Practitioners are part of the team leadership and support clients with complex needs and staff, especially newcomers.
We offer a starting salary of £27,300, with annual progression up to £31,937, depending on experience. Higher starting salaries may be offered based on qualifications.

Role Responsibilities:
* Supervise up to 2 Recovery Workers, supporting their practice and addressing challenges.
* Support Recovery Workers during outreach, ensuring safety and policy adherence.
* Conduct monthly audits of Recovery Workers' cases and discuss outcomes.
* Manage complex cases.
* Prioritize Harm Reduction, record activities appropriately.
* Oversee issues related to service users during Recovery Workers’ leave, ensuring continuous care.
* Engage in outreach activities, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
* Build and maintain relationships with partner agencies.
* Participate in weekly MDTs and support treatment planning.
* Deputize for the Team Leader when absent.
* Engage in training to develop leadership skills.
* Chair MDTs and multi-agency meetings as needed.
* Escalate safeguarding concerns.
* Participate in SALS meetings and case discussions.
Standard Advanced Practitioner duties include peer support and partnership roles.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Excellent report writing and note-taking skills.
* Experience in substance use treatment and recovery settings.
* Specialist knowledge of complex issues like mental health, homelessness, or domestic violence.
* Understanding of risk management in substance use contexts.
* Extensive experience in health and social care.
* Qualifications such as RMN, Social Work, Psychology, or equivalent.
