What's involved with this role: Temporary HGV Mechanic - Fleet Services Reference no: WFDC (HQ) 17664 Pay Rate: £18.82 per hour PAYE 37 Monday to Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 2 months City: KIDDERMINSTER Ensure Council’s plant and fleet are serviced, maintained, and repaired to the highest of standards. Prioritize the work to meet the need of the service. Assist with allocation, monitoring, recording, and auditing garage works, and keep up to date essential paperwork. Liaise with the Fleet Officer when required. Key Responsibilities Undertake responsibility for the workshop in the absence of the Fleet Officer Carry out 6 weekly inspections, safety inspections, vehicle servicing and repairs as required. Prepare vehicles for Plating and Mot tests to the highest standards. Undertake MOT, Taxi inspections and staff car servicing as part of the garage income generation. Be available to support the fleet maintenance and service out of normal working hours when requested by the Fleet Officer.
