Job Description
As a Transport Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring all deliveries are dispatched accurately and efficiently, and that all returning drivers are debriefed with any issues communicated and escalated as applicable.
Working hours: 4 on 4 off nights, 18:00-06:00.
Salary: £27,050.40 per annum.
Key Duties of a Transport Administrator:
* Ensure that the despatching/loading module is kept up to date according to site processes.
* Efficiently and accurately dispatch deliveries with relevant paperwork and information.
* Utilize GTS and customer systems/Google Sheets to update despatch or delivery information.
* Prompt drivers to complete pre-operative Microlise checks on their tablets; if faulty, drivers must return and complete paper checks.
* Direct drivers to correct locations on arrival and provide maps with Risk Assessments if needed.
* Escalate issues to the Assistant Transport Manager if unresolved.
* Input correct trailer numbers into GTS for tracking, ensuring accuracy at shift end before assigning new drivers.
* Liaise with planning and warehouse teams to resolve issues and ensure paperwork is endorsed correctly.
* Chase the warehouse if paperwork isn’t printed at dispatch.
* Prompt drivers to download their cards at shift end.
* Report health and safety concerns to the Transport Manager.
Qualifications
* Equivalent of 5 GCSEs grade C or above.
* Flexible, committed, motivated, and able to use initiative.
* Capable of working independently within guidelines.
* Team-oriented and collaborative.
* Strong typing skills are beneficial.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook is desirable.
* Organized and efficient.
