Job Description Summary
Exciting new opportunity to be part of the team supporting the largest Wind Farm in the world: Doggerbank.
This vacancy will be based at our new Marshalling Harbour site at Port Nigg. Your introduction will involve spending some time in Able Seaton to understand site workings and then opening the Site in Port Nigg.
The EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) Service Lead will provide leadership and direction in all EHS related questions on site. This role is key in the preparation and realization of the O&M works (corrective, preventive, and retrofit) by applying and controlling the Customer, Local, and GE Vernova EHS requirements. Coordination with your Site Management Team on the SOV and other support functions is essential. Driving operational excellence and safety is a top priority.
Responsibilities include:
* Cultivating an exceptional EHS culture on the wind farm.
* Providing leadership and engagement to embed a culture of continuous improvement regarding EHS, ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
* Embedding systems into general use and ensuring training and development for staff in their use and awareness.
* Monitoring the site's EHS performance, identifying, and proactively addressing performance shortfalls.
* Monitoring and reviewing the site's KPIs for EHS performance.
* Providing EHS guidance and support to site teams, including leading incident investigations to identify root causes and embed learning.
* Ensuring detailed incident reports are produced for all health, safety, environmental, and quality incidents.
* Reviewing third-party EHS competencies before engaging in service provision.
* Managing and developing the site's incident management system.
* Managing the site's EHS audit process.
* Liaising with clients and legislative bodies, providing reports on safety statistics, environmental performance, and incident reporting.
* Driving PAC and Safer cases to ensure a safe working environment.
* Supporting marine coordination requirements and reviewing their processes.
* Participating in process improvement initiatives and sharing lessons learned with the Site Management Team.
* Conducting regular emergency drills and exercises.
* Reviewing execution documentation such as maintenance instructions, methods statements, and risk assessments.
* Supporting the review of safety concepts, processes, and risk assessments to ensure legal compliance.
* Checking safety data sheets and preparing hazardous materials registers.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related EHS/quality field, or professional education in safety or quality with experience.
* Professional experience and expertise in environment, health, and safety.
* Ability to work in cross-functional and global teams, including remote teams.
* Experience in offshore wind or related disciplines.
* High motivation, leadership, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in English, both oral and written.
* Interpersonal and leadership skills.
