Sustainability Steps Wales (SustainAbility) is delivering an exciting new ‘Sustainable Steps Wales’ contract backed by Dormant Assets funding from The National Lottery Community Fund. The initiative empowers young people with disabilities and those from ethnically minoritised communities across Wales to launch careers in green industries over the next five years. As part of Fedcap UK’s Economic Development practice area, you will be working for ELITE Supported Employment.
Location & Hours
Magden Park, Llantrisant – Full‑time, 35.5 hours per week.
Salary
£23,075 – £27,486 (pro‑rata).
Key Responsibilities
* Accept and assess referrals to identify employment goals, barriers, and support needs.
* Deliver pre‑employment activities and manage a caseload to support access to employment.
* Provide accredited and non‑accredited training to individuals and groups.
* Liaise with employers to secure job opportunities, placements, and volunteering roles.
* Support employers with reasonable adjustments and promote Disability Confident practices.
* Deliver in‑work support, job coaching, and job maintenance strategies.
* Promote ELITE’s services through presentations and marketing events.
* Provide financial guidance, including Better Off in Work calculations.
* Maintain accurate records, monitor participant progress, and meet project KPIs.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to maximise outcomes.
Person Specification – Essential
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
* Strong understanding of the needs of disabled and disadvantaged individuals.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding practices.
Person Specification – Desirable
* Experience in supported employment or welfare‑to‑work environments.
* Knowledge of Supported Employment techniques.
* Ability to speak and/or write fluent Welsh.
* Experience in industrial/commercial settings.
* Recognised IQA qualification and experience.
* Willingness to lead on business elements or specialist areas.
* Knowledge of the local employment market and benefit system.
