An exciting full-time opportunity has arisen to join the Climate Change Response Team as a Community Engagement Officer (A Welsh Government funded biodiversity and habitat renewal project). The project aims to strengthen Bridgend’s protected sites network, with a strong emphasis on engaging landowners, local communities, conservation partners, and volunteers. The project will address key habitat management issues, involving a broad range of stakeholders to ensure long-term sustainability.
The Community Engagement Officer will work closely with project partners including Natural Resources Wales, the Wildlife Trust, Bug Life, and others, to co-ordinate and deliver education activities, engage with volunteers and communities, and ensure successful implementation of the project.
Along with a strong focus on community engagement a nature or biodiversity background would be a great advantage but not essential.
The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
The council’s Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post. This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.
