Job Title: Transport Planner

Reporting to: Transport Operations Manager
Schedule:
* Monday – Friday between 06.00hrs and 19.00hrs on a rota basis.
* 1 in 4 Saturdays 06.00hrs to 12.00noon paid additionally to salary.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a high performing, motivated, hands-on Transport Planner to join our existing team.
Responsibilities:
1. Planning our vehicles effectively to achieve OTIF (On Time In Full).
2. Ensuring all customer collections are achieved.
3. Changing schedules to meet customer/network demands.
4. Liaising with drivers and colleagues to ensure all day-to-day activities are met to the highest possible standards.
5. Ensuring our drivers are delivering OTIF and reporting delays effectively.
6. Trouble shooting critical transport related issues as they arise in a live environment.
7. Managing Company expectations by ensuring drivers are effectively using in-cab technology and obtaining Pod’s eta’s and relevant paperwork.
Skills & Attributes:
1. Experience of pallet network operations is essential.
2. The ability to utilize and manage drivers effectively.
3. Good knowledge of computer skills is required.
4. Good geographic/road network knowledge of the DE/WS is essential.
5. Flexible approach with regards to working hours.
6. Able to work under pressure in a time-critical environment.
7. Previous experience of working with Transport Planning and Management Systems.
8. Well organized with acute attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have been a transport planner for a minimum of 2 years, with a proven track record, strong communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with other departments.

Pay: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
