Job Title: Field Service Engineer – Reciprocating Compressors & Associated Equipment
We are seeking multiple Field Service Engineers to join a global OEM specializing in the service, maintenance, and repair of reciprocating compressors. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical systems in industrial environments, particularly with rotating equipment, and be willing to travel across the UK with occasional international assignments.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of reciprocating compressors and associated systems.
2. Carry out mechanical overhauls, component replacements, valve servicing, and alignment of compressor systems.
3. Conduct site surveys and diagnostics to determine equipment condition and recommend remedial actions.
4. Prepare detailed service reports, documentation, and customer feedback summaries.
5. Liaise with clients on-site to ensure high-quality service delivery and technical support.
6. Support root cause analysis (RCA) and reliability improvement initiatives.
7. Ensure compliance with company HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) policies and client safety standards.
8. Maintain service tools, equipment, and vehicle in good operational condition.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Mechanical Engineering qualification (apprenticeship, HNC, HND or equivalent).
2. Proven experience working with reciprocating compressors (e.g., Ariel, Howden, Ingersoll Rand, or similar).
3. Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
4. Full UK driving licence.
5. Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and occasionally abroad.
6. Right to work in the UK.
7. Experience with gas compression or petrochemical industry equipment.
8. OEM training or certifications on reciprocating compressors.
9. Familiarity with vibration analysis or condition monitoring tools.
10. Offshore or COMPEX certification.
