Job overview

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY SWANSEA BAY UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD.

The post holder will provide specialist nursing care, advice, guidance and leadership deploying their specialist theoretical and practical knowledge to;

•Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidenced-based nursing care.

•Provide specialist advice and excellent clinical practice.

•Work autonomously and manage own workload as a lead specialist in their area.

•Provide specialist education and training to Staff.

•Work collaboratively and co-operatively with clinical colleagues.

•Demonstrate the Health Board’s values and ensure that others demonstrate the same values.

Undertake Audit; CPD; teaching; research; administration, Clinics; ward-based work; telephone consultations etc.

Main duties of the job

•Work alongside the multi-disciplinary team and provide specialist nursing advice as appropriate to own areas of expertise.

•Be visible and accessible in the clinical area to the nursing and wider multidisciplinary team, patients and service users.

•Monitor and evaluate the standards of care provided by the clinical team.

Person specification

Essential

Essential criteria

1. Registered Nurse & current NMC Registration Bachelor’s Degree
2. Specialist post graduate qualification or equivalent experience
3. Proficient level of knowledge in clinical speciality Knowledge of service improvement

Desirable criteria

4. Experience of participating in practice change
5. Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading and writing in Welsh
6. Teaching qualification (or equivalent experience) Advanced clinical skills Non-medical Prescribing

7. Relevant experience of the relevant speciality
8. Experience of working in a multiprofessional enviroment

9. Ability to use electronic systems-IT skills
10. Ability to travel to all areas in a timely manner
