Position Summary:
Prepares all reporting information. Performs financial analysis and participates in special projects for the research and development and digital solutions departments. Represents the finance organization on various business teams, contributing both financial and strategic support.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
Essential Functions:
* Analyzes and prepares functional reporting packages.
* Analyzes sales, gross margin, SG&A expenses, and capital expenses by product line.
* Spearheads the preparation of the annual budgets.
* Ensures that investment model ('IRR') assumptions are current.
* Evaluates the profitability of new reagent rental deals.
* Ensures that reagent rental contracts are properly accounted for.
* Participates in the development and evaluation of gridline pricing, marketing programs, and compensation plans.
* Interprets financial operating results and makes recommendations for cost reduction and profit improvement.
* Proactively reengineers processes and procedures to reduce time, cost, rework, and/or increase accuracy and quality.
* Continuously enhances the quality, reliability, and responsiveness of the information provided.
* Spearheads other financial projects as required for timely and effective decision-making.

Skills & Capabilities:
* Facility with spreadsheet analysis, Windows environments, and mainframe or platform-based software; SAP experience preferred.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; completion of a graduate program in accounting or finance preferred.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a professional environment in an accounting or financial reporting position.
* Strong working knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of accounting and financial reporting.
