A leading manufacturingpany seeking a Buyer to join their Purchasing Department, based in Bangor, Co Down,
Your new role
The Buyer will report to the Purchasing Manager, supporting with the procurement of all stock materials and services, ensuring a smooth purchasing process and continuity of supply.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the Purchasing Manager with procurement activities.
2. Ensure timely placement of purchase orders in collaboration with the Purchasing Manager and Scheduler.
3. Negotiate pricing with suppliers as required.
4. Maintain product availability for all international warehouses.
5. Liaise with suppliers to ensure order priorities and delivery dates are met.
6. Monitor inventory levels of required items.
7. Deliver briefs, updates, and reports as required.
8. Attend daily operations meetings when required.
9. Maintain data accuracy onputerised systems.
10. Assess and evaluate suppliers on an ongoing basis.
11. Maintain supplier database.
What you'll need to succeed
12. GCSE Maths, English.
13. Relevant Business, Manufacturing or Engineering Degree or proof of relevant experience.
14. Minimum 1 year’s experience in effective acquisition of products for a busy manufacturing environment.
15. Previous experience of using an ERP system.
16. Experience of negotiating prices.
17. Working knowledge of keeping track of and monitoring inventory levels.
18. Ability tomunicate with suppliers to ensure delivery dates of products are met.
19. Strongmunication and interpersonal skills.
20. Strong negotiation skills.
21. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
22. Customer focussed, confident, self-aware, highly motivated, action orientated, and ability to use initiative.
