About The Role
We have a new opening for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer working as part of a small facilities team supporting our Cardiff site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain practical, hands‑on engineering experience with training available for the right candidate. No two days will ever be the same as you carry out planned preventive maintenance, support breakdown repairs, and general facilities maintenance.
Key roles and responsibilities
* Conduct corrective and preventative maintenance activities originating from work orders.
* Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns.
* Ensure that preventive maintenance schedules are completed on time.
* Identify maintenance plan improvements or omissions, working with the Engineering Supervisor to keep plans relevant, technically correct and compliant.
* Work on small projects when required, including design, installation, commissioning or minor system alterations.
* Seek innovative, cost‑advantageous methods of completing work without compromising safety or quality.
* Maintain sufficient stock of materials, equipment and parts for required work.
* Carry out work to the highest safety standards, proactively addressing potential hazards and reporting issues to management for prompt action.
Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds equivalent in electrical or equivalent experience in a similar role.
* Experience in a regulated industry is advantageous.
* Broad knowledge and interest in electrical systems and maintenance.
* Safety conscious and aware of key HSE legislation.
* Adaptable to change and flexible in dynamic situations.
* Good interpersonal skills and effective teamwork ability.
* A natural problem‑solving mindset and ability to identify improvement opportunities.
