Senior Building Surveyor to join the Planned and Reactive Maintenance Teams within the Corporate Property & Assets Department. This is an exciting time to join our expanding Property team, managing a large, diverse property portfolio across corporate offices, leisure centres, theatres, car parks, farms, schools and other assets.

Our workload is dictated by the Council’s Capital budgeting, necessitating close interaction between Planned and Reactive Maintenance to deliver high-quality property services that meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders. About The Role
Opportunities are available within our Planned Maintenance & Projects Team and our Reactive Maintenance & Contracts Team.
Planned Maintenance & Projects
Responsible for project managing construction works schemes (up to approximately £1M each) from capital programmes or one-off commissions. Role involves developing relationships with building occupiers, undertaking building condition surveys, maintaining property records, and assisting with emergency responses and reactive maintenance requests.
Reactive Maintenance & Contracts
Provide technical advice and support to the Planned Maintenance and Reactive Maintenance & Service Contract teams. Ensure works meet legal, health, safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include reviewing contractor quotations, overseeing contractor management, and maintaining records of inspections and works. Manage numerous reactive maintenance requests (up to approximately £100k each), assist in delivering the PPM programme (up to approximately £1.1m), and ensure statutory obligations are met. Maintain property records and develop relationships with occupiers; undertake occasional surveys.
Mobile Working
A mobile role with flexible scheduling, laptop access to digital folders, and the ability to work from home or in the office as needed.
Key Accountabilities
* Contribute to the delivery of the Council’s planned maintenance works.
* Design and oversee individual works packages through to completion.
* Diagnose issues quickly and under pressure.
* Provide intelligent, workable solutions to issues investigated.
* Be an integral and reliable member of the Property Services team.

Maintain professional qualifications as a Senior Building Surveyor, with experience solving issues under pressure and upholding the Council’s values: Proud, Ambitious, Collaborative and Trustworthy.
