The Vacancy

What will you be doing?

As a Commercial Lending Relationship Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing new business opportunities and managing commercial relationships to support our strategic goals. You will represent the Society, focusing on building long-term, positive relationships with both new and existing clients. Your efforts will be crucial in executing commercial strategies, managing risk assessments, and enhancing our market presence.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

* Identifying new business opportunities and expanding our market presence.
* Negotiating and closing commercial lending deals, while maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
* Collaborating with various departments such as marketing and operations to develop and implement effective plans to support the Society Commercial Lending Strategy.
* Analysing performance metrics and delivering reports to senior leadership.
* Identifying areas for growth and improvement.
* Participating in the Society’s Commercial Lending panel to agree new lending opportunities and provide insights on factors that could impact the Commercial Lending Portfolio profile.

What type of person will you need to be?

You will need to be a proactive and engaging individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a commercial mindset. Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities are essential, as is the ability to work in an agile and flexible way. You should be a natural networker, capable of building and maintaining robust relationships both within the Society and with a Commercial Lending client base. You will be able to present, sell, and service Society products with professional knowledge of commercial lending.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

* Knowledge and experience of Commercial Lending, both for investment and development, including managing clients and preparing proposals for approval.
* Strong analytical and mathematical capabilities, understanding of credit underwriting and loan documentation.
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, with previous experience in the Specialist Property Lending sector and Residential Property Development Finance sector being desirable.
