This is a voluntary, 1 year placement working up to 4 days per week including match days.
Location: University of Derby Sports Centre, Kedleston Road, Derby, DE22 1GB and various locations on match days

Start date: Tuesday 01 September 2026
Role Responsibilities:
- Work closely with other members of the performance team to ensure a multidisciplinary team approach is adopted to player support.
- Create and deliver an age-appropriate physical development and monitoring programme.
- Prioritise the development of speed of movement and physical output capability as a key thread throughout the support program.
- Be considerate of maturation related aspects of physical development to reduce injury occurrence in susceptible players.
- Support the delivery of nutrition content, working closely with the club nutritionist.
- Play an active role in the player review process.
- Line manager responsibilities for part time Physical Performance Coach and lead on the management of an integrated sport sciences volunteer programme.
- Project a proper and professional image of ProChance Football Club and act in the best interests of the Club at all times.
- Any other reasonable Physical Performance Coach duties as requested by management.
Adhere to all ProChance Football Club's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an inclusive, safe and welcoming environment
- Carry out and actively participate in all training requests as directed by the Club, including coaching qualifications, mandatory health and safety training, emergency procedures, fire safety, manual handling, safeguarding, and role-specific safety instruction.
Essential Criteria for the Role:
- Undergraduate Degree in a sport science / Strength and Conditioning.
- MSc in sport science or related area or working towards.
- Experience of providing physical performance support to young athletes.
- Experience of working within an elite sporting environment.
- Experience and knowledge of applied growth and maturation practices.
- To uphold the FA Safeguarding adults course
FA First Aid (Level 2) Emergency First Aid in Football.
Hold or working towards a UEFA C licence
- Hold or be working towards an industry appropriate accreditation.
- This role requires the completion of an enhanced criminal record check through the DBS. Following offer acceptance
