Undertake a full range of Patient Booking Functions required by the Trust, with practical regard to meeting Trust Targets. As a member of the Service, the post holder will provide clerical and administrative support to the department.
The candidate must have the ability to plan their own workload appropriately and support clinic reception staff as needed.

The Scheduling & Booking post holder will focus on waiting list management, ensuring all clinics are filled and patients are booked in a timely manner. The post holder will liaise directly with clinicians to ensure appointments are booked correctly and minimize lost capacity.
The post holder will validate waiting lists and RTT pathways, reviewing open pathways and outcomes, and following up to ensure remedial action is taken. Working with a degree of autonomy, they will also be responsible for ensuring clinics are fully utilized, managing their workload to prioritize specialties and clinics based on clinical urgency and occupancy.

General Office duties include:
1. Add patients to waiting lists, inputting accurate information and updating as received; manage outpatient/inpatient waiting lists and rebooking to meet policy.
2. Send patients appointment details using Trust PAS system, prioritizing admission dates to meet deadlines and monitor waiting times.
3. Admit, discharge, and record patient attendances for specific consultants.
4. Arrange interpreters and signers respecting cultural and personal beliefs.
5. Validate waiting list reports regularly to ensure adherence to 18-week targets.
6. Handle patient inquiries and complaints about waiting times and list positions.
7. Cancel or reschedule appointments upon patient or clinician request, updating the list accordingly.
8. Remove patients from lists as requested, informing relevant parties.
9. Prioritize workloads independently.
10. Retrieve case notes as needed.
11. Perform filing and other duties as required.
