About the role
The Lead Operative will assist the Team Leader to manage a number of Operators, providing them with technical expertise, supporting their personal development and any areas of improvement.
We will provide you with full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enable you to safely and effectively work as a Lead Operative where you will…
1. Input daily production figures into the works order system
2. Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve efficiencies
3. Carry out factory inspections, giving advice and support to Production Operatives
4. Maintain a good standard of housekeeping throughout the plant
5. Deputise for the Team Leader in their absence managing your own and the teams time effectively
6. Be willing to undertake any training that is required to fulfil this role and your personal development
Hours of Work: to on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern
About You
7. Strong experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment
8. You will ideally have experience with supervision/line management or have transferable skills to offer, such as; Coaching Addressing performance issues Motivating others Managing change Conflict resolution Administration skills Resource planning and organisation
9. You’ll enjoy working in a busy environment where you can roll your sleeves up and get hands-on
10. Flexible and able to adapt to the different daily priorities in the factory which help us run efficiently
11. Safety is our biggest priority, so you’ll be committed to safe working and have good general safety awareness.
12. You’ll be fit enough to perform your duties, which are varied, and sometimes physically demanding
13. Confident with a positive attitude
14. OPTIONAL - Current / valid RTITB, ITSSAR, NPORS or CPCS forklift truck license
