Role: Sous Chef

Location: Devon

Salary / Rate of pay: £35,000 to £38,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Platinum Recruitment is working in partnership with a family owned, luxury 4 star hotel with enviable sea views of the South Devon coast and we have a fantastic opportunity for a Sous Chef to join their team, catering for the eateries within the hotel.

Our client is a family-owned, luxury 4-star hotel situated on the South Devon coast with enviable sea views. This beautiful property boasts a 2 AA Rosette main fine dining restaurant which offers guests breakfast and dinner, as well as a terrace bar serving a lunchtime menu, poolside bistro and an on-site food-led pub - the latter of which is run by a separate team of chefs.

Fresh, locally sourced produce is a proud feature of the hotel, mixing classic dishes and new favourites. The menu for the fine dining restaurant changes daily with a weekly rotation.

Refurbished staff live in accommodation is available if required and is only a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

What's involved?

As a Sous Chef, you will work as part of a well-established team of 10, catering for the main fine dining restaurant, bistro, and bar. A lot of prep work will be involved as you can expect to cater for an average of 70-100 covers per night, using locally sourced produce, but should always monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.

You will work closely with the Head Chef, deputising and running the kitchen in their absence, ensuring you and the team all have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety at all times.

Experience in a similar establishment or a formal restaurant background would be preferred for this role.
