Job Description:
Overview: First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic International Defence business which is looking to recruit multiple Vehicle Technician Trainers on a permanent basis due to growth at their Lyneham depot.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and deliver instruction on course modules in the Initial Trade Training Department, including lesson plans, training aids, workbooks, and trainee handouts.
2. Collaborate with the Media and Graphics Department to create relevant training materials.
3. Maintain a Continuous Personal Development (CPD) portfolio to stay updated on new technologies and equipment, ensuring training materials meet the latest standards.
4. Review and update course content to support technological advancements.
5. Assess trainees through written exams, practical assessments, and ongoing evaluations.
6. Mark examinations, set homework, and supervise assessments.
7. Support trainee development through feedback, discipline, and training interventions, and document progress.
8. Handle trainee administration, including reports and training records.
9. Maintain training equipment and literature.
10. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards within training areas.
11. Supervise trainees and visitors, ensuring safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
12. Use equipment appropriately and ensure quality management procedures are followed.
13. Identify and report unsafe practices and infrastructure issues.
14. Participate in presentations to external agencies and visitors.
15. Perform any other duties as directed by the Lead Trainer.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Minimum CGLI City & Guilds Part 3, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance, or equivalent military qualifications (e.g., Class 1 REME Vehicle Mechanic).
2. Supervisory experience.
3. Proven experience in a relevant environment.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
5. Knowledge of military environment and equipment.
6. Understanding of the REME trade structure and operational requirements, especially relevant to Initial Trade Training.
Additional Details:
Location: Lyneham
Salary: £34,814 – £37,223
Working Hours: 07:30am – 16:30pm, Monday to Friday (early finish on Wednesday)
