Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) Location: Ellesmere Port Reports To: Engineering Manager Role Overview As a Multi-Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of our plant equipment and facilities. You will play a key role in ensuring machine uptime, troubleshooting faults, and supporting production targets in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring minimal downtime. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and implementing effective solutions. Work with PLCs, motor controls, sensors, and automated systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar). Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, productivity, and energy efficiency. Complete accurate maintenance records and reports using the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System). Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth running of operations. Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures at all times. Skills & Experience Essential: Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent). Experience working in a manufacturing/industrial/metal processing environment. Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Familiarity with both electrical and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
