Quality Technician
The purpose of the Quality Technician role is to assure the quality of products throughout the product lifecycle with Safran Seats GB. The post holder will support quality assurance through the complete manufacturing process, and take responsibility for ensuring that processes and procedures are in place and adhered to in relation to product quality.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the quality assurance function throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring that processes and procedures are in place and adhered to in relation to product quality.
* Support FAI (in assembly and MU), dimensioning, audit and compliance, end‑of‑line inspection and release, and supplier quality inspection.
* Protect customers from non‑quality by ensuring that products and practices comply with regulations, customer requirements and Safran standards and by promoting a culture of prevention and anticipation.
* Drive continuous improvement by capitalizing on factual data and feedback and providing the necessary support for all company functions.
* Undertake other reasonable duties in line with business needs and objectives.
* Verify the conformity of product and part quality to agreed product quality standards and requirements.
* Work to a standard inspection process in a consistent manner in line with specifications and standards agreed with the customer.
* Use Verniers, micrometers and FARO arm to perform inspection activities.
* Support and assist with customer inspection activities.
* Complete part and assembly FAIs to AS9102 using a wide range of inspection equipment against model data and third‑angle projection drawings.
* Act as EASA Form 1 signatory for parts and product release (after training).
* Act as a Certificate of Conformity signatory (after training).
* Assist as a team member in problem‑solving activities for manufacturing product quality issues and measures (using 8D techniques).
* Support the quality activities within the project timeline.
* Maintain an effective product inspection portfolio.
* Ensure that the customer's voice is heard and understood by all suppliers.
* Support and promote excellence among all suppliers by implementing the methods and tools recommended by Safran.
* Ensure the quality and compliance of products and services purchased and/or provided by the company.
* Ensure that supplier system, product and process anomalies are addressed, with the necessary assurances that corrective actions are effective.
Qualifications
* Apprenticeship level or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
* Sound engineering/quality background with experience of quality inspection within a manufacturing/engineering industry.
* Internal Auditor AS9100 trained.
* Experience within the aerospace industry.
* Knowledge of management of HSE risks.
* Ability to use Verniers, micrometers and FARO arm for inspection tasks.
* Training to act as EASA Form 1 signatory and Certificate of Conformity signatory.
* Problem‑solving skills using 8D techniques.
