Hays Accountancy and Finance is recruiting qualified Staff Officer Accountants for the Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) in Co. Armagh.
Your new role
1. Support the DP Accountant in delivering high quality Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS) financial management and reporting obligations by preparing accurate and timely monthly and annual resource accounts in line with statutory and financial reporting requirements.
2. Responsibility for preparing and monitoring provisions
3. VAT Returns preparation
4. Liaise with business areas to ensure accurate financial information and resolve queries
5. Work collaboratively with colleagues across NIPS, FSD and other stakeholders to meet deadlines as required
What you'll need to succeed
Have successfully passed the final professional examinations and be a full, current member of one of the professional bodies detailed below: (a) Chartered Accountants Ireland;
(b) The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland;
(c) The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales;
(d) The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants;
(e) The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants;
(f) The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy;
(g) The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland.
Have a total of at least one year’s experience gained in the last five years, in a finance-related environment.
