What can you expect?

Fieldfisher has one of the UK's leading Claimant Clinical Negligence claims practices. We have extensive experience in pursuing claims for victims of medical negligence, particularly ones involving catastrophic / life changing injuries and complicated issues on liability.

Over the past 25 years, we have helped thousands of people recover compensation for their injuries and illnesses. Many of the cases result in £multi-million damages awards.

Our team is the premier destination practice for claimants. Our City-based practice has developed a huge wealth of experience over more than 30 years and combines technical excellence with a genuine understanding of every client's needs. The team was part of the Times Best Law Firms 2021 for personal injury and clinical negligence. We secured damages in excess of £300 million for our clients in 2024.

Due to continued growth and the expansion of our Clinical Negligence group in London we now have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Solicitor/Associate 0-4 year PQE to join this market leading team. You will be responsible for assisting the senior partner who has over 20 years' experience working within the field of highly complex medical law, across a growing and diverse caseload of clinical negligence claims whilst also running your own caseload of matters.

Responsibilities

1. Proactively manage own files and support the partner
2. Preparing thorough documentation required in the preparation of cases to trial
3. Liaising with counsel/experts
4. Liaising with clients and handling matters with the appropriate sensitivity

Experience and Knowledge

5. Qualified lawyer with strong relevant UK claimant experience from a top rated city law firm.
6. Should be able to demonstrate experience in and have a keen interest in marketing.
7. An ability to build relationships with the client, family, witnesses, counsel and experts.
8. Enthusiastic team player with a commitment to quality and client care.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Good case management skills.
11. Strong academics essential minimum 2:1 or equivalent.
12. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a real commitment to and empathy with the cause of the client.
