Duties of the MET Technician
* Removal and refitting of damaged panels and mechanical components, including shock absorbers, lower arms, and engines
* Ensuring safe storage and handling of parts throughout the repair process
* Diagnosing additional damage and liaising with the Vehicle Damage Assessor for parts procurement
* Refitting components with attention to manufacturer specifications and panel gaps
* Resetting vehicle control units using diagnostic equipment
* Maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety protocols
* Assisting with repairs involving steering, drivetrain, and engine components
* Supporting colleagues in a team environment to ensure timely vehicle repairs
Requirements for the MET Technician
* Recognised qualification in automotive body repair or mechanical repair preferred; candidates working towards an IMI qualification will also be considered
* Strong hands‑on experience in fitting, repairing, or replacing vehicle components
* Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
* Skilled in prioritising workload and working independently as well as within a team
* Attention to detail, especially when refitting panels and components
* A valid UK driving licence with minimal points
* Commitment to health and safety standards and ongoing learning
