Are you a Project Ecologist looking to work for a dynamic and industry-leading team, with flexibility to balance field work, hybrid working, and access to Tetra Tech offices across the UK? Or are you an experienced Consultant Ecologist, ambitious to advance your career, supported by a diverse network of experts at an award-winning consultancy, conducting field studies on some of the UK’s most interesting projects?
Role Outline
As a project/consultant ecologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality ecological services. You will lead surveys and contribute to projects across sectors including energy, defence, and infrastructure. Your expertise will help clients achieve their environmental goals while ensuring regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will be a competent ecologist, with opportunities for professional development aligned with their interests and Tetra Tech’s business strategy. We encourage our ecologists to lead projects that match their skills and expertise, providing in-house project management training and technical courses. Attention to detail and a commitment to high standards are essential, along with the ability to support and mentor colleagues, leveraging our technical expertise to develop optimal solutions.
The role involves collaboration with colleagues from various disciplines on multidisciplinary projects, so a willingness to understand different aspects of the business is beneficial. Our success is partly due to long-standing client relationships, and the role will involve working closely with clients from sectors such as Residential, Defence, Infrastructure, Energy, and Government Services.
We are seeking an ecologist with strong field skills and a desire to develop their technical expertise, particularly in survey and consulting work involving bats, badgers, otters, amphibians, habitats, ecological appraisals, and impact assessments. With support from our regional and national nature teams and aligned with our career framework, you will be encouraged to develop your specialist skills while honing your consultancy abilities. We offer training, bonuses for obtaining bat licences and chartership, and dedicated training and upskilling teams.
