We are seeking a highly motivated Diagnostic Ophthalmic Technician to join our friendly, dynamic team at UHDB.
The successful candidate will provide diagnostic support for the Ophthalmology services at Queen’s Hospital, Burton‑upon‑Trent, Treatment Centre Burton Hospital, Samuel Johnson Community Hospital Lichfield, and Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital Tamworth.
Clinical duties
* Visual function assessment using automated equipment to select and perform visual fields and assess visual acuity.
* Optical Coherence Tomography of the optic nerve and retinal nerve fibre layer.
* Optical Coherence Tomography of the macula area of the retina.
* Static perimetry using the Humphrey Visual Field analyser.
* Fundus/Retinal photography.
Administrative duties
* Data input.
* Dealing with telephone, email, and verbal enquiries.
* Supporting the Orthoptic department with general administrative duties.
* Other administrative duties as advised by the Orthoptist management.
