Overview

Assistant Manager/Manager – Asset Management - Consulting - Advisory role at Grant Thornton Ireland. We are seeking an experienced project manager to join our Consulting practice and contribute to client engagements in the asset management space.

In this role, you will lead client engagements, drive strategic initiatives, and deliver solutions that enhance asset management operations, performance, and growth. You will act as a trusted advisor to leading asset management firms, leveraging industry expertise and strong analytical skills to solve complex business challenges. Experience in Financial Services or Asset Management is preferred as we drive change across these sectors.

Roles & Responsibilities

* Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver and manage projects across key areas
* Strategic Thinking: develop and implement long-term strategies aligned with client goals
* Client Relationship Management: build and maintain strong client partnerships
* Financial Acumen: understand financial markets, investment products, portfolio management, and risk frameworks
* Data-Driven Decision Making: analyse data, conduct market research, financial analysis, and risk assessments
* Regulatory Knowledge: familiarity with asset management regulations (e.g., SEC rules, MiFID II)
* Change Management: guide clients through organizational and technological change; implement process improvements
* Stakeholder Management: manage diverse interests and align with project objectives
* Leadership & Team Development: mentor and develop teams
* Communication & Presentation: deliver presentations to executives
* Problem Solving: analytical and creative problem-solving
* Project Management: manage timelines, budgets, and resources; plan and document requirements; facilitate workshops
* Technology Savvy: awareness of fintech, data analytics, and automation tools
* Negotiation Skills: negotiate contracts and vendor relationships
* Collaboration: work across multidisciplinary teams
* Adaptability: operate in dynamic environments
* Business Development: support proposals and client opportunities; stay informed on industry trends
* Identify growth opportunities and support client engagements


Education, Certifications & Experience

* A third level degree with strong academic record
* Project Management certification (e.g., Waterfall, Agile) and ability to apply best practices
* Minimum 4-8 years of relevant experience, depending on level


Skills & Competencies

* Strong Project/Programme Management leading multi-disciplinary teams
* Broad Financial Services/Asset Management industry experience
* End-to-end project delivery across lifecycle in complex environments
* Analytical and interpersonal skills; client service excellence
* Multi-tasking and deadline management
* Business development experience including proposals and client presentations
* Experience engaging with C-Suite/Senior Management
* Big-picture thinking with attention to detail
* Curiosity for new opportunities and creative problem-solving
